MkII – Closed Loop Transfer Kit

Updated with 6.3mm internal diameter line and fittings for faster transfer flow.

Don’t oxidise your beer when kegging – use this Closed Loop Transfer Kit and never degrade your beer post fermentation ever again!

One of the most common issues we see with our kegging customers is oxidised beer. This typically occurs during transfer from the fermenter to keg through an open keg lid. The result is often a wet cardboard tasting finished product or a significant decline in hop aroma and flavour.

Ideal for NEIPA style beer.

This Closed Loop Transfer Kit is suitable for just about any fermenter that has an airlock and a tap. It will work perfectly with standard 30L Plastic fermenters as well as higher end fermenters such as Grainfather Conicals.

The Closed Loop Transfer Kit will transfer your fermented beer to your keg while expelling C02 from your keg back into the top of your fermenter – complete oxygen free transfer.

The kit is made with push in fittings for ease of cleaning / drying after use.

Please Note: If you are concerned about blocking your keg liquid post poppet valve with hop material during transfer we recommend putting a MacDaddy Bouncer Filter in the middle of the 12.5mm ID Tube that connects to the fermenter tap. The MacDaddy Filter can be found HERE

The kit includes:

Liquid Side Assembly

  • 30cm 12.5mm ID Brewing hose – to go over the fermenter tap
  • An adaptor to reduce the brewing hose to 6.3mm ID / 9.5mm OD Beer Line (13mm Barb to 1/2” BSP Female with a 1/2” BSP Male to 9.5mm Duotight Push in Fitting)
  • 1m of 6.3mm ID / 9.5mm OD Beer line
  • Bleed Valve – Duotight Ball Valve and Duotight T Piece with 10cm of 6.3mm ID / 9.5mm OD Beer line
  • Ball Lock Duotight Liquid Disconnect

Gas Side Assembly

  • 1.5m of 6.3mm ID / 9.5MM OD Beer line
  • Ball Lock Duotight Gas Disconnect

To use:

  1. Clean, sanitise and purge your ball lock keg with C02. Retain some of the keg C02 head pressure for purging the gas line
  2. Attach the Gas Side Assembly to the gas liquid ball lock post on your keg. The keg will vent C02 through the Gas Line until ambient pressure is achieved. This will purge the Gas Line of air / oxygen
  3. Remove your airlock and insert the end of the gas line from the keg into the grommet
  4. Attach the Liquid Side Assembly to the fermenter tap. Ensure at this time the Duotight Ball Valve is closed on the transfer loop. Open the fermenter valve and then slowly open the Duotight Ball Valve until the Liquid Line is flooded then close the Duotight Ball Valve. Use a towel or container to catch any liquid coming out of the ball valve 10cm run off tube. This will purge the Liquid Line of air / oxygen
  5. Attach the liquid ball lock post to the keg to commence the closed transfer. Gravity will fill the Keg and return displaced C02 to the headspace in the fermenter
  6. Once transfer is completed disassemble the Liquid Side Assembly and clean, sterilise and air dry thoroughly

Note: Duotight Fittings in the listing picture may be a different colour / configuration depending on item availability
