This Single Vessel All-Grain recipe is our version of a traditional Dusseldorf Altbier.

This Altbier is true to style being a hybrid ale with regard to hops and yeast yet it is fermented at lager temperatures. The resulting beer has a good balance between the rich malt and noble hop flavour and aroma.

Moderately bittered with Tettnang at circa. 35 IBU’s and with a mid-range ABV of circa. 4.7% this beer is an easy drinker for those looking for an amber hybrid ale with great mouthfeel and depth of flavour. Something different – Enjoy!

• Malts: 4.64kg: BestMalz Pilsen and Caramel Munich I Malt. Joe White Traditional Ale, Munich, Vienna and Chocolate Malt.
• Hops: 100g Tettnang
• Yeast: 1 x Lalbrew Koln – Kolsch Style Ale Yeast
• Kettle Fining: 1 x Whirlfloc Tablet (only use 1/2 tablet)
