In-Line Wort Thermometer / Wort Meter with Camlock Fittings

This in-line wort thermometer / wort meter with camlock fittings is a great addition to your Brewzilla, Grainfather (if camlock conversion kit fitted) or any brewery with camlock fittings.

Aussie Brewmakers use these fittings on all of our shop brewing systems and counterflow chillers.

This fitting uses a 42mm Bi-Metal dial thermometer that measures the wort recirculation temperature just prior to it entering the top of the boiler. It greatly assists in knowing what your mash temperature actually is.

Why do I need this In-Line Wort Thermometer / Wort Meter with Camlock Fittings?

1. Tight control on your mash temperature has a huge impact on your beer. Most brewers mash between 63 and 70 degrees Celsius. Essentially If you mash at the higher end of this range you will end up with long chain sugars that will make beer with malt characteristics and a fuller body – perfect for Ales, IPA’s etc. If you mash at the lower end of the range you will end up with shorter chain sugars that will make a dryer, crisper beer – perfect for Pilsners, Lagers etc.
2. If you do not know exactly what temperature you are mashing at you may end up with a finished beer not true to style due to as little as a couple of degrees mash variance
3. The temperature probes on many single vessel breweries are at the bottom of the boiler and do not accurately measure the actual mash temperature. This fitting will solve this issue
4. It can be used in-line with counterflow chillers to ensure you know what the wort temperature is when cooling for transfer or for ensuring steep / whirlpool hops go in at the correct temperature post boil to maximise aroma and flavour

It is ‘plug and play’ for Brewzilla’s and Grainfather G30’s that have installed our Camlock Upgrade Kit. Will also fit any brewer that uses camlock fittings. The Bi-Metal Dial Thermometer also has a calibration screw to adjust it if needed.
